About This Project

The concept of circulation which is the essence of traveling through the condition of ‘’passage’’ inspired this proposal’s design. The curvilinear morphogenetic forces of bamboo bending capabilities facilitated this dialogue between space, circulation and light.

The Pavilions’ design guidelines were based on the form-finding strategy of active bending and on the diffused lighting. The proposed arches configure staircases’ and elevators’ entrances with an inviting descending gesture. The arches’s grid originates from staircase steps while their top is differentiated according to light. The curvilinear arches take the optimum form in space and further optimization is realized with the use ofstructural analysis software integrated in the design software in the preliminary stage of design.
